About Local Government Elections

Local Government ordinary elections are held on the third Saturday in October every two years.

Elected Members are elected for terms of four years in Western Australia. Elections are held every two years for half of the council. If a vacancy occurs within a term, an extraordinary election is held. See the Elected Members page for current terms.

The Shire of Dalwallinu conducts in person voting and voting may be undertaken at the Shire Office (58 Johnston Street) in Dalwallinu from 8am to 6pm or Kalannie IGA (Hazlett Street) from 9am – 12pm.

The next Local Government Election date is scheduled for Saturday 18 October 2025 but is yet to be confirmed.

Information about elections is also available on the WAEC website.
