Wheatbelt Regional Strategy - Your Comments Needed/Wanted
The Shire President & Chief Executive Officer will be attending an initial meeting in Perth with the Planning Commission on Monday 19 October 2009. A major challenge for government is to establish policy to drive the development of the Wheatbelt in a coordinated manner and to best support people, businesses and the environment.
The preparation of a regional strategy is an opportunity to consider the planning issues and challenges facing the wheatbelt over the next two decades, and establish a land use policy framework that will support decisions over that time. The 'Towards a Wheatbelt Regional Strategy' Directions Paper sets out the scope and emerging policy directions for the preparation of regional planning strategy for the wheatbelt.
